“From little things, big things grow”
Headlines about budget changes, rising inflation, immigration issues, housing shortfall, interest rates rise get constant attention. A quieter but equally important social phenomena—the epidemic of loneliness across all generations, and the wish for more human connection—often fall under the radar. I see this across all strata of society and in my work as a psychologist.
I am keen to foster a community for dialogue, to connect over friendly chats or just a place to drop in if you feel like some company (see article & flyer in Sydney Observer magazine (Oct ’26, p. 19) for more details.
From 1 October. I am organising a fortnightly community catch up: CONNECT (Drop In, Say Hi) at the North Turramurra Deli and café (282 Bobbin Head Road, North Turramurra, 2074) https://share.google/qzs6fCIHfog9CTcWE
1st and 3rd Thursday of the month: 10 am-12 pm:
Oct: 1/10; 15/10, 29/10
Nov: 12/11; 26/11
Dec 10/12
I started this initiative to facilitate people to connect. It will also be positive role modelling for the younger generation. I hope that it will encourage people to help each other beyond the meetup.
All are welcome. Bring your family and friends. No special skills need. Just an open heart.
